Name the Contribution, Not Just the Category

An award becomes more meaningful when someone can connect it to their own work. Consider the problem they solved, the support they gave or the standard they helped raise. A clear title such as 'Customer Care Excellence' or 'Team Contribution' can express that purpose, with the presentation adding the specific story behind the recognition.

Make Room for Different Kinds of Achievement

Visible results are only one part of a team's success. Thoughtful recognition can also acknowledge collaboration, mentoring, reliability and new ideas. Define what each category celebrates before selecting recipients. This gives your awards a clear purpose and helps recognise contributions across different roles, including the work that may happen quietly behind the scenes.

Keep the Recipient at the Centre

Give the employee's name and achievement enough space to be read comfortably. Your organisation's identity and the year can support the design without overwhelming it. For a team award, decide whether to recognise the team as a whole or create individual pieces, so the wording reflects who is being thanked and how the award will be displayed.

Make the Moment Feel Earned and Personal

A brief account of the employee's contribution can make the handover feel sincere.
